Belleville, IL: Katzman & Sugden, LLC joined hundreds of participants in this year’s Annual St. Clair County Law Day Run. The event was held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, and was co-organized by Belleville Running Club and the St. Clair County Bar Association.
In addition to the team at Katzman & Sugden, LLC and their families participating in various races, the firm sponsored the event.
This year’s race featured a 5K Run/Walk, a 1K Youth Fun Run, a Toddler Trot, and later a post-race party and award ceremony. Early registrants received finisher T-shirts, gift certificates, and refreshments. There was also a bounce house for children and a DJ, made possible by sponsors like Katzman & Sugden, LLC.
This year’s theme was “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.” This is based on the principle that no one is above the law and that law should enable each American to live freely and pursue their goals. This theme aligns with what Katzman & Sugden, LLC has been doing in the Metro East Illinois area, which is helping injured people navigate the legal system, regardless of who they’re up against.
The Annual St. Clair County Law Day Run raises funds for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc., and other legal aid organizations that provide free legal help to both low-income and senior residents. Funds raised through the event help support access to legal assistance in matters involving housing, family law, public benefits, and other essential civil legal needs for individuals who may otherwise be unable to afford representation.
Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. currently serves 65 counties across central and southern Illinois. Its work as one of the largest legal aid organizations in Illinois is made possible by sponsorships and partnerships.
Similar to the other Law Day Run events, this year brought the regional legal community together, from solo practitioners to large firms. Sponsoring and joining peers in an event like this reflects the firm’s commitment to building relationships and contributing to the professional community.
